BIOGRAPHY
Murray commenced potting through the Otago Polytechnic in 1978 as a hobby. After shifting to Tauranga and a break of thirteen years he is now producing pots from his studio/gallery in Tauranga.
Murray works mainly with stoneware and the majority of his work is wheelthrown producing some domestic type ware, large urns, bottles and bowls. He has also recently begun making hand formed platters.
Murray has always been interested in Chinese stoneware glazes and currently is working with copper reds, blues, blacks and turquoise. He enjoys the aesthetic results produced by wood-firing.
